[Video] Creating Chaos for the PM

Yesterday I posted a link to this excellent interactive site. Unfortunately, some people were unable to get it to work and so I have now created a video demonstrating the site. It’s a very clever piece of web advertising.

BTW Julia, you can all the Federal Police off. It’s just a bit of fun =)

[Video] Taxi!

This video is an analytical model based on the GPS data from ten thousand taxi trips over the course of 24 hours. Using the Google Maps API the creators, Tom McKeogh, Eliza Montgomery and Juan F Saldarriaga, were able to create a pretty awesome visulisation based on the taxi traffic as it moved around Manhattan.

Fun stuff.

[Infographic] Romance on the Go

Romance Survey

Just in time for Valentines Day, have released an interesting infographic based on a survey to identify what people considered to be their ideal romantic weekend. What I found particularly intriguing is that exploring a new city was so popular amongst the 18-29 age range, whereas spending a night in hotel scored so low in the same age range. For the Millenials it’s romance-is-on-the-go.

What’s your perfect romantic weekend?

[Infographic] The Psychology of Colour

Psychology of Colour

A wonderful description of the values we place upon certain colours. It’s interesting to see how different shades can alter our perceptions of the people and the world. Does this mean that the completely colour blind are more reliable in their acumen because they are not swayed by the psychology of colours? At least we now understand why corporate blue is so popular on business websites and logos.
